What began with one man, a trade, and a willingness to move where the work was, has grown into five decades of service — milestone by milestone, customer by customer.
1972
A new chapter in Hospers
After 7½ years of plumbing in Ireton, Fred is convinced by Jim Huygens to move his family and business to Hospers — buying Roos Plumbing & Heating from Harold (Bootsy) Roos.
1975
Building a home for the trade
Fred builds the Hospers offices of Fred’s Plumbing & Heating.
1988-1990
Lennox Purchase Recognition
Awarded for a 25% increase in Lennox purchases — three years running.
1997
25 years of service
A quarter century of trusted craftsmanship across N’West Iowa.
2000
Showroom & warehouse additions
Building expansions add a dedicated showroom and warehouse area.
2002
30 years of service
Three decades serving customers, neighbors, and friends.
2003
St. Anthony's — Proud Heritage
Fundraiser for St. Anthony’s celebrating the community’s proud heritage.
2005
20 years as a Lennox dealer
Recognized for two decades of Lennox dealership excellence.

Warehouse fitting room added
Another expansion — a dedicated fitting room within the warehouse.

Showroom remodel & 40 years
The showroom gets a refresh and Fred’s celebrates 40 years of service to the community.

Vendor of the Day — Clay County Fair
Recognized as Vendor of the Day at the iconic Clay County Fair.
2015
WaterFurnace national honors
Top Dealer in Iowa, Top 20 in the Nation, and the 500,000 Club Award from WaterFurnace.
2016
Sheldon sheet metal facility
A new Sheet Metal Facility opens in Sheldon. WaterFurnace 600,000 Club Award follows.

Recognition & a remodel
Mandy Boersma named to N’West Iowa Review’s ’40 Under 40.’ The front office is remodeled.
